You can copy the xs-tools-5.6.0.iso from /opt/xensource/packages/iso on any XenServer host, mount the iso in Hyper-V, and update the XenServer 5.6 xentools.

Hi, The Hyper-V method is great, but how do you get the Xenserver 5.6 xentools installed on the machine in hyper-v?

When you upgrade you device drivers are you uninstalling the PVS client tools, and upgrading the device drivers, and reinstalling PVS client tools? If it’s chipset or network you have to do this offline by reverse image, Hyper-V direct boot, or XenServer direct boot. You can’t do anything that affects network stack/chipset while the PVS client is online. What blue screen stop code do you get?

I always get blue screens because of troubles with device drivers, then I reinstall the drivers and a few days latter I have the same error. Any good solutions?

I always become confused with the reverse imaging while direct VHD seems to a bit easier… good post anyway.. thanks for sharing!
