App-V has gone 64-bit

Until now App-V has only been supported to run on 32-bit operating systems. Well not anymore. Microsoft has released a public beta for App-V to run on 64-bit operating systems.

App-V 4.6 beta has been released by Microsoft. App-V now supports both 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems. This version does not provide support for the Itanium 64-bit operating system. Running 16-bit apps are still not supported on 64-bit, only 32-bit. They have also made some improvements to the App-V Sequencer so you now can sequence true 64-bit applications.

The next version of App-V should be released by the first half of 2010. You can read more at the Official MDOP Blog. You can download the beta from Microsoft Connect.
